"Love a tree - grow your community"

NeighbourWoods Residential Tree Planting Program

deadline extended until June 30, 2013!

Hidden Valley Community Association is partnering with The City of Calgary's NeighbourWoods Residential Street Tree Planting Program to promote a healthy urban forest and encourage stewardship in our community.

Do you have space in front of or adjacent to your home that is city owned property?  You might qualify for a free tree (valued between $200-$300)!

To apply simply call 3-1-1 and express an interest in participating in the Hidden Valley Community Association NeighbourWoods Tree Planting Program 2013.  A City of Calgary representative will assess your area to see if it qualifies for this particular program.  The City of Calgary representative will also help you choose a tree best suited to the property and pre-dig and back fill the hole for you!

To become a Residential Tree Steward, you must pay for a mandatory $30 tree-gator watering bag and commit to watering the tree for five (5) years. Payment for the $30 tree-gator watering bag will be collected on tree planting day.

September 22, 2013 has been chosen for our Planting Day.  Join us at the Hidden Hut (10504 Hidden Valley Drive) to receive a complimentary 30 minute education workshop, tree planting demonstration and mulch when you pick up your tree!

How you can help:

          -promote the program

          -become a Residential Tree Steward

-assist with payment of mandatory tree-gator bag ($30)

-assist with Planting Day activities (September 22, 2013)
